A Great Musical Opportunity for RES

Celtic Dance Instructor Heather Morris and the RES Enrichment Program offer:

A great musical opportunity for Richmond students and family members!

Master Irish drummer (bodhran) and expert instructor Mance Grady from Rhode Island is available to offer Percussion Lessons to RES students in grades 2-4 and their families in the Music Room on Friday, January 18 from 2:30-3:30.   Mance will instruct on proper form and the basics of common Irish and Scottish rhythms like jigs and reels --all in a fun environment. Drums provided by RES.

Students and family members are welcome—but there is limited space due to the number of drums and the level of instruction. Each attendee will be charged ten dollars.  Spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.  Forms will be sent home to all students in grades 2-4.

In addition to his instruction at RES, Mance will be in the area for the entire weekend participating in a variety of activities:
Friday, Jan 18 he will be interviewed on WCAX at 5:30
Friday evening he will perform at All Souls in Shelburne with an outstanding Irish fiddler and an equally outstanding Irish percussive dancer at 7:00pm
Saturday, Jan 19 he's offering workshops held at Wake Robin in Shelburne
Saturday evening he's performing at a Robert Burns celebration in Barre with Scottish fiddlers and step & Highland dancers.
More details on all of this can be found on the Celtic Gathering page of Heather Morris' website:  www.celticheather.com
