Today our four year old preschoolers celebrated their learning about maps and literacy with a special world premier of their own movie: Home: Richmond Vermont Mapmatcians. The preschoolers wore their fancy clothes and walked down a red carpet into the library, where guests including our principal, school board chairman, and assistant superintendent had gathered to enjoy the film. After the movie screening, students shared their "Map of My Heart" writing pieces with the appreciative audience.
Preschool teacher Suzanne Self and assistant Samantha Bourdeau created the film, which shows the learning journey of our young students during a creative lesson on maps. Below are a couple of stills from the movie. The preschoolers' joy and pride in their learning is clear on their faces.
