RES Farm to School invites you to a:
Community Harvest Festival
Saturday, Nov. 9th, 11 am - 3 pm
at the Monitor Barn on Rt. 2
•Lunch featuring local foods, made by Ms. Kent and RES students: wood-fired pizza, soup, apple crisp
•Fun, harvest-themed, kids' activities: grinding grain, making corn husk dolls and tea sachets, making pizza, blending bike-powered smoothies, visiting with farm animals, climbing on hay bales, painting a community mural, and more.
•Local farm products: vegetables, meat, goat cheese, eggs, maple syrup, honey, jams, handcrafted soap, wool, and more. VYCC, Arcana, Maple Wind Farm, Full Moon Farm, Hestholl Icelandics, Slopeside Syrup, Sunflower Soaps, Midnight Goat Farm, Bee Happy Vt, and Marsh Hollow will all be on site to meet you and tell you about their operations.
•Live music: Loggerhead (11-1) and the Peterman-Sheldon Duo (1-3)
•Silent auction, featuring items donated by local farmers and artisans.
It’s a fun celebration of local farms and food held in a beautiful heated location. Think ahead about what you’ll need for your winter kitchen, for Thanksgiving, and for the upcoming season of gift-giving, and visit the Harvest Festival to stock up. Festival proceeds benefit Richmond Elementary's Farm to School program.
