Richmond Elementary School participates in the Vermont Treasurer's office "Reading is an Investment" financial literacy program for kindergarten through sixth grade students. Here are a few updates from the program:
The annual statewide financial literacy poster contest is underway! This annual competition is open to all 3rd-12th grade students. The theme this year is: Think…before you spend! Winners of each grade division (elementary, middle school, high school) each win a $100 cash prize and the school is also awarded $100 for supporting financial literacy. Check out the contest web site: http://www.vermonttreasurer.gov/financial-literacy/postercontest The deadline to enter a poster is March 12, 2014.
Also, the Treasurer's office would like to remind families that Reading is an Investment reading logs are due back to the Treasurer's office by March 15, 2014. There will be twenty $250 college savings accounts awarded -- all students who fill out logs are eligible to win! It's not too late to sign up! More information and reading logs are available from the Treasurer's office.
