FOCUS Meeting Weds June 12th at 6pm

The final FOCUS meeting of the year will be on Weds June 12th at 6pm.We will be celebrating our accomplishments this year with icecream (no dinner this time) and a great discussion.  We will review our budget, talk about our plans for the summer and next year and write cards to our incoming 2013-14 K families.

Proposed FOCUS Changes for the 2013-14 School Year
After much thought and discussion, Rebecca and Darcie (FOCUS CoChairs) proposed a change to the FOCUS set up for next year.  We propose no longer having monthly FOCUS meetings.  Instead FOCUS will organize a pot luck event for each grade level once during the year.  These pot lucks will be a chance for families to come together for food and fun!  In addition we will have open meetings three times a year to discuss plans for events, and any ongoing business.  We also plan to organize two-three family events (fun run, movie night, etc) throughout the year, and are willing to support other ideas that have a champion! We think that this proposal is in line with our goals of supporting students and families and community. It is also consistent with our desire to 'focus' more on community building than fundraising.  If you have feedback and ideas---we want to hear them!
