An Update on the RES Principal Search

June 9, 2016

Dear RES School Community:

I want to thank faculty, staff, parents, board members and the community for their interest and support in the Richmond Principal Search.  In particular, I would like to extend my appreciation to the search committee who worked tirelessly during the candidate review and search process.

The late date of the RES principal search influenced the pool of candidates for the position.  Therefore, we are going to forego hiring a permanent replacement for Mr. Berry and search for an interim principal for the 2016-17 school year over the summer months.  This will allow us to begin a search for a long-term principal in December 2016 and increase the diversity of candidates.  I will be facilitating the search for an interim principal and communicating the appointment to the school community.

Although we had some qualified principal candidates, a more diverse pool provides the school community with the greatest opportunity to find the best fit for Richmond Elementary School.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

John R. Alberghini, Superintendent
