Trout in the Classroom at RES

This year Ms. Senning and Mrs. Ayer are excited to try and raise trout in the classroom!

This is a unique opportunity for students to learn first-hand about an organism’s life cycle and how to set up an
appropriate habitat. If we are able to fund this project, the eggs will arrive in late October. Students
will work to monitor the water quality as the trout develop from eggs to fry. In late spring, we will take
a field trip to the Winooski River to release them!

The Leamon family has worked to set up a fundraising
blog to fund the start up cost of this program. Please visit their website for more information on the
program, Trout in the Classroom and how you can help the 3rd and 4th grade students!
